Engine Lathe C-Turn Series Features
The C-Turn series manual turning lathes for sale feature hardened, precision-ground guideways, exceptionally low noise, and a universal gearbox. This allows for cutting metric, Whitworth, module, and diametral threads down to the most precise measurements with no need to replace gears. The feed handwheel can be ordered left or right based on the needs of the operator and rapid traverse, standard on 385 & 420 models, can be added as an option to smaller sizes of our new engine lathes.
The C-Turn series precision metal lathes are also available with stepless spindle speed and Constant Surface Speed (CSS) feature up to 3,100 rpm. Offering an optimal structure design, the entire structure of the Engine Lathes C-Turn series conventional engine lathe is carefully designed for maximum stability when performing heavy precision cutting. Its massive bed is a box type construction combined with extra wide bed ways, providing increased rigidity and stability. Manufactured from high quality cast iron, the bed and stand of these industrial lathes are annealed to relieve internal residual stress. The bed ways are high-frequency heat treated and precision ground which can avoid vibration and tool chatter during performance of heavy-duty machining.
Engine Lathe Swing
- Swing Over the Bed is the max diameter that can be turned with a traditional full bed. KAAST engine lathes are available with 18-60" Swing Over the Bed.
- Swing Over the Gap is the max diameter that can be turned over the portion of the bed with the gap. Gap beds increase the max turning diameter on a lathe. This is done by limiting the travel of the carriage by ending the ways the carriage travels on 6-12 inches from the chuck. KAAST's engine lathes are available with 25-77" Swing Over the Gap.
- Swing Over the Carriage is the max diameter that can be turned without running into the carriage. This is most applicable to long workpieces. KAAST lathes are available with 11-43" Swing Over the Carriage.
Headstock and Tailstock
Headstock and tailstock of these turning lathes for sale are constructed from high-quality materials and precision aligned ensuring accurate and reliable machining. The adjustment is smooth and precise to accommodate different workpiece lengths and diameters.
